I tried calling the travel place/doctor but I’ve yet to be able to get through. I've seen several different things on the internet, and don't know which one(s) are actually right.
If this matters at all, I am 21. I've had routine shots like MMR, all 3 hepatitis, etc. probably around 12 and under.
Also, if the plane is stopping to refuel in a yellow fever infected area, do I actually need to get the vaccine? One of my friends who went told me I did, but I'm not actually getting off the plane, so that seemed a bit odd.

Answer:
Compulsory vaccinations:
Yellow Fever certificate if arriving from infected areas.

Suggested vaccinations:
*Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, *Hepatitis B, Polio, Tetanus, *Typhoid, *Rabies, *Cholera.
*recommended in some circumstances, seek further advice from your nearest SAA-Netcare Travel Clinic

Health risks:
Malaria exists in the low altitude areas of the Mpumalanga Province (including Kruger National Park), Northern Province and north eastern Kwazulu Natal as far south as the Tugela river. Avoid mosquito bites, take preventative medication and seek medical attention should you become ill. Bilharzia, TB, Tick Bite Fever, Sunburn, Travellers Diarrhoea, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Motion Sickness, Jet Lag.

P.S. I don't see how you’ll need to comply with the requirements for another country en route if you’re not going through border control (they won’t know).

P.P.S. Have you checked with your airline?

Answer:
“The only vaccine required by International Health Regulations is yellow fever vaccination for travel to certain countries in sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America. Meningococcal vaccination is required by the government of Saudi Arabia for annual travel during the Hajj.” http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/content/vacc…

For purposes of vaccination you are not considered to be traveling to a country if your plane only stops there to refuel.

I wouldn't advise getting non-required vaccines for your trip. There's always a chance you could have an adverse reaction to one or more of the vaccines, causing you to be miserable on your trip.
