I have not gotten my wife over to the US yet, She told me she had to go out and buy a gas stove and and lights. How long will these power outages go on. I thougth I read only a week, but I could be wrong.
Answer:
Its very bad; i would say it is now a crisis (but i dont think those in charge would come out and say).
Traffic lights arent working and the Metro (speed cops)cannot cope (as if they wouldve…), so roads have become even more chaotic.
Investor confidence is dropping.
Ppl will most probably lose their jobs; businesses will close down.
And its really, really depressing.
Why?
No new stations have been built in 20 YEARS, despite the rapid growth in many areas, because the current govt thinks its more important to change city and street names than upgrading infrastructure to suit new developments.
Unfortantley, normal SAcans are now reaping the bitter fruits of their incompetent govt.
Answer:

I doubt that it will last long as there are a couple of million rands lawsuits already started ! Answer:

Answer:
Lol it is more likely to be 1 decade and it will only get worse but we are supplying electricity to neighboring country's - why if we can't even meet our own demands - what about meat in the fridge, fish tanks ans businesses who can't operate properly or are they operating on African time as well ??
Answer:
Well, so far, I've still got the juice to hang out on Y/A…. but expect silence pretty soon.
Apparently, it's going to last until 2013 (which probably means that the 2010 Soccer World Cup will be the first one featuring soccer players sporting neon clothing and wielding flashlights on the pitch….).
