im 21 on the 11th of may and going on hoilday on the same day i sent off for my passport on the 19th and phoned the ids number to check it was only going fine i did the check and send at the post office but now they stated they cant tell me anything and it takes upto 6 weeks has anyone sent of roughly around this time tried to unbook my hoilday to go a later day and they cant do it please some1 help :'(

If you are in the UK, I don't know. However, I also just applied for my first passport as an adult in the U.S. and I got my new passport back in just a week and a half! So you might be lucky. Generally you want to pay the extra for expedited service if you're going out of the country that soon.

If you live near a major city, you can go to the Passport Office (not the post office, it has to be a passport issuing office) with your itinerary and a fat checkbook in hand, and get a passport in just a few days…

If you didnt expedite it you could be in trouble. My wife recently did hers and they told her it would take 6 weeks, but we got it in about 4 weeks.

If you expedite it, it should be back in about 2-3 weeks at longest.

Did you pay to expedite the process, because if you did it takes between 1 and 2 weeks only. Call the Airlines if you don't get it.
