I was under the impression that they’re free of charge?

Answer:
It depends on whether

1/ its longhaul or short haul

2/ on the airline

3/ if they have any offers on such as child free with paying adult

You have to pay a % of pax tax etc for the child but not the seat

Answer:
Your child occupies space. It eats, goes to the bathroom and drinks water. Also, babies on planes are an intense nuisance to other passengers. Why should the rest of us subsidise your baby? To me, it's completely right that the airline should charge you a fee.

Answer:
If you want your baby to have his own seat, and you’ll, you'll have to pay. Some airlines have slightly reduced prices for under 2s and/or under 12s, but others don't.

Answer:
Lap children do not have to pay for the price of a ticket, but the other fees must be paid as each passenger on the manifest must pay those…and even lap babies must be listed on the manifest.

Answer:
I suppose it is because they will take up a seat…that is unless you are opting to have your child on your knee which i think is granted. But if they are charging, then they’re charging.

Answer:
airlines terms and conditions

if you dont want to pay use alterative means of travel

Answer:
you’ve to pay it cos the airline charges it, easy as that.

Answer:
if you dont want to sit him on your knee then you will have pay extra

Answer:
