i had a flight today from North Carolina to Louisiana when i got to the medal dectors they said i had been chosen for and extra search..they went threw all my stuff and i had to paded down..they treated me like some kinda criminal.i dont fly a lot like maybe twice a year..but iv never had this happen…why did this happen

If your boarding pass has SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS on it, it means you're a selectee for additional screening.

Round trip travelers are randomly selected, while one-way travelers are almost exclusively selectees.

I'm a pilot with with secure ID and am in the national database and still get selected for additional screening at times. It's not that big of a deal, is it?

They do random searches. Sometimes you might fit a certain profile and sometimes it's just bad luck that you were “chosen” to be searched.

I wouldn't worry unless it happens all the time. Then there may be something on your file that makes them target you.

sometimes things come up on the detector so they have to make sure that your not carrying anything that you shouldnt thats all, there not trying to make you feel like a criminal,
