Please tell me all the 2 year old horror stories about flying US airways aren't true. I'm about to book my flight, it's significantly cheaper than all the others (£120 cheaper) therefore making it my first choice. Could people share their experiences and problems. in-flight entertainment is my main concern as i will be travelling with kids. Thanks.

Answer:
I usually fly US Airways Philadelphia to Manchester when I visit my relatives in the UK. The in flight service really isn't that bad … it's basically what you'd expect from a such a massive airline that offers low rates. The service isn't as good as Continental, BA, Virgin, etc but it's decent. The only problems I've had with their staff is their ground staff at the ticket counters. They're usually miserable and pathetically unhelpful. I missed the baggage check in time for a domestic flight once that wasn't due to depart for another 45 minutes. I could have made it had they’d more people on at the counters (they let the people in front of me go) but as soon as I got there? Nope, sorry … missed the baggage check in time by about 10 seconds. It was a nightmare trying to get them to listen to me and get me booked on another flight. Don't miss the baggage check in time. It really is true that you need to get there a good 2 hours before the flight leaves.

In flight entertainment - they’ve seat back TV's that show a variety of movies, Television shows, I think some games as well, but they're the older type and not the large screen one's you get on some airlines. Legroom, pitch, etc is no different than any other airline these days.

They're ok for what you pay but I'll pay the extra money to fly overseas with a superior legacy carrier when I have the ability to afford it.

Answer:
PHL international flights have seat back TV's. CLT international flights don’t.
