There are 737-100,200,300,ect. what does the last numbers mean. Thank you

Answer:
The last number is the submodel of the 737, as there have been many variations on the 737 over the years. In general, the higher this number, the more recent the model.

If the last two digits are not zero, they indicate the airline or operator that purchased the aircraft. For example, a 737-822 is the 800 model of the 737 and belongs to United Airlines, whereas a 737-338 is the 300 model and belongs to Qantas. Each operator has its own number because there are a lot of customer options on an airliner that are specific to each carrier.

Answer:
It's a variation number. Think of it like this: If you go buy state a Ford Explorer. That's like saying it's a 737. But you can buy an Explorer XLT, or Sport Trac or Limited or Eddie Bauer Edition, which would be the equivalent of the variation (-800, -900). The planes themselves can look different, with a 737-100 being visibly shorter than a 737-900, but are based on the same 737 design model.

Answer:
Different configurations/variations.

The 738 is one of the later generations of 737's from Boeing and has a larger seating capacity than the -700.

Answer:
It is a design (model) number.
