I've decided to forgo spending money on a hotel since I think I can get a better deal (minus the hotel services) by renting an apartment. I am trying to decide where to stay however. Can anyone give me advice? I am torn between Recoleta and Palermo neighborhoods.

Answer:
renting can get tricky since there are so many options. depending on how long you want to stay. here are a few web sites that might help you find a place:

www.argentinahomes.com
www.barts.com.ar
www.argenprop.com

both of the neighborhoods are very quaint. both have restaurants, things to do. there are different areas of Palermo. for example, Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood, which are all up and coming “hip neighborhoods”. Recoleta and Palermo are next door to one another, so a taxi ride is next to nothing in cost. you may get a better deal in Palermo for your money. Recoleta is topped one of the “richest ” areas in the city.

Answer:
I would recommend you Recoleta. Palermo is more of a park area, in Recoleta you’ll find more shops, restaurants, coffee shops, night life, etc. My aunt lives in Recoleta, and I have been to both areas. Trust me, Recoleta is the place you want to be!

I hope you enjoy Buenos Aires.

Answer:
It really depends what you're into. Chic and trendy with lots of boutiques and clubs–Palermo. Classy, French-style residential area–Recoleta. You can take a look here for a neighborhood breakdown. http://www.bsas4u.com/top10buenosairespl…
