I'm spending a year in the Misiones province of Argentina. What is your view on Malaria medication? Is it worth the possible side effects that would occur over a year of medication, or take the risk of catching it? Also, do you think I should take the Rabies injections? Does anyone know how locals of Misiones protect themselves from these diseases? Thanks!
Answer:
1 YEAR??…You cannot make any treatment for 1 year. People that work in Malaria Areas are just carefull cause they can’t do any profilassi. You should die with a so long treatment. Anyway Misiones is not so hazardous for Malaria. Wash your hands, don't drink tap water…normal rules that you should follow in a lot of other countries.
Enjoy Misiones
Answer:
No need for Malaria prophylaxis in Misiones.
But I would do rabies, as a preventive measure.
Also, please note that if you want to travel across to Brasil, you will need the yellow fever shot.
