I'm intersted in theatre and drama films. I'm considering moving to Australia because I've always felt close to it and would enjoy the elements of it, but have to put into consideration my career. I'm American as well, would that work for me or against me? Also, what would be the ideal cities in Australia for an aspiring actress?
Answer:
Australian actors almost invariably need to go to America to further their careers. I think there would be very little work for an American aspiring actress here and your accent would count against you for work on productions for Australian audiences. Each year, a few American movies are shot here but I comprehend that most casting is done in the US and only small bit parts go to local actors.
Answer:
Dont know about acting. But singing yes. Also it depends on how good you are. Actresses around Oz are finding it hard to get work around here atm. It;s not a bad place to get work. But you just have to look for it.
Australia does have some good theatre productions though.
Good luck
Answer:
no, we don't have that much shows that are australian…practically everything on tv is from america
if you come now though they're having tryouts for parts in neighbours but you have to be really lucky and good to win…
Answer:
Nope! America is the place to be for that.
