We’re all looking at moving to Melbourne as a family. WE have lived there before years ago before having kids moved around a bit originally from WA currently living in QLD and I love Melbourne. For us as a family and work wise Melbourne offers more. You have a great zoo and lots of culture. Ok maybe the weather not the best but sure keeps you on your toes lol. Also I found the people friendlier in Melbourne maybe that’s just the areas I’ve been to.

I'm a Brisbane person and I love Melbourne and try to get down there at least a couple of times every year. I love the whole place, but especially the city and can spend days just exploring the arcades and laneways. Queen Victoria Markets is another 'must visit' every time I go - wish we’d something enjoy it in Brisbane. I don't even particularly mind the weather - it certainly keeps you guessing. If Melbourne had Brisbane's weather, everyone would want to live there and that would probably spoil it.

I have to also mention the awesome sporting precinct with all of its connecting bridges and walkways. We went to the Commonwealth Games and more recently the Swimming World Championships and Australian Open and never fail to be blown away by that whole area. Love the public transport too, particularly how well it's managed during major events.

I love Melbourne, the Architecture of the old buildings in the city are beautiful, we’ve a great casino, lovely gardens, southbank is great also,clubs, lovely beaches , Albert park, museum, you don't feel claustrophobic when your in the city with its' wide streets, not like Sydney. I also like our weather, and for the person who stated 'if you like gray dull days' we are just out of winter you know! remember that when we’ve 35C-38C days in the summer, at least we don't get cyclones or BIG hailstones like certain cities did a few days ago!!

I live just north of Brisbane and I’ve been to melbourne once…earlier this year and it was AWESOME!

the footy, the markets, the city….just so much to see and do!

I would love to be down there for a grand final one year….but it would take a bit of saving!

I like Melbourne CBD the best because it has a lot of shops, tall buildings (Eureka tower is the best) and some nightclubs and a huge Casino (Crown Casino). Some of the suburbs are hideous and dirty but most are nice.

Brisbane people don't pay out on Melbourne and to be honest we don't give toss about Melbourne anyway.Unlike Melbourne we respect other cities in Australia for their uniqueness.

i was in Melbourne for a week got home to Brissy on tuesday there was 1 thing i loved about melbourne THE AIRPORT so 1 could get away from that cold wet miserable place
