Just curious to know when both countries are in the British Commonwealth

Answer:
All non Australian citizens need a visa to get into Australia.

Well, to get into any country, you need a visa - but Australia does not give visa's “on arrival” like in New Zealand, or many other countries.

Answer:
1) Being in the Commonwealth has nothing to do with it - each country in the Commonwealth is free to set its own immigration rules.

2) You do NOT need a full tourist visa if you're a British citizen and visiting Australia as a tourist for three months or less. You simply need to apply for an eVisitor authorisation, which is free of charge and is as simple as filling in an on the web form:

Answer:
Britain no longer governs and set the rules in either Australia or New Zealand. Being commonwealth countries doesn't give Britons a divine right of entry

Both countries set their own laws and conditions of entry.

Answer:
I can’t imagine New Zealand being any different from any other country, you need a visa to enter any country outside your own
try travelling with out and you might find you cannot even enter New Zealand

Answer:
What does that have to do with it? Everyone needs a visa to come to Australia and the poms are no exceptions. New Zealand makes its own decisions.

Answer:
they’re 2 separate countries each having their own rules

being a part o the commonwealth has nothing to do with it
