Can people in brazil comprehend people in portugal?

i am studying brazilian portuguese and i need to know will people in portugal understand me and vice versa with little to no problem..

So don't worry about that, because it's still the same language. Yes. Brazilians think the Portuguese are stupid. They make jokes about them kind of like Polish jokes are made in the USA and Irish jokes in the UK. Honestly if you listen to a Portuguese person talk it does sound a little foolish, (I am Brazilian).
