You got a nice ride there - I assume you own a cruiser - honda shadow probably. The roads are nice, although you always need to be on alert on two way roads. Sometimes there are road constructions going on during the summers season and there are loose gravels on the road, watch for the construction sign. We mostly have asphalt roads of different quality, even most village roads, unless you want to go somewhere completely remote.

You'll get a lot of respect with your motorcycle, most racing style bikes are frowned upon in turkey.

Answer:
a turkish guy told me the roads are similar like most of new zealand roads

Answer:
It depends on where are you moving to :)

Usually Turkish motorists do complain a lot about the government's ignorance of motor riders however things are improving for them.

The roads are generally better in the western regions and south western regions(close to the EU standards) and gets worse as you go to the east.South eastern part and the very eastern part of the country are the less developed parts and as a result roads are not in good condition.

Btw the route between Trabzon and Georgian border along the Black Sea Coast is known and is considered to be one of the nicest motorcycle routes of Europe not necessarily for the quality of the road but for the natural beauties and stunning views along the route.

Answer:
If you are moving to Istanbul, the roads are pretty crowded and there are traffic jams everywhere especially in rush hours…

so having a motorcycle will save your time a lot in those kinds of traffic jams… if you want some empty road to speed up then you might wanna consider moving to somewhere less crowded than Istanbul, or else you can just wake up early when everyone is still asleep..! =)

good luck!
