It seems like they're always hating on one another from what I've seen

Answer:
It's just for fun, some friendly teasing among neighbors.

But I think there's actually more jokes between Sweden and Norway.

Kind of the same relationship as between USA and Canada,

if you’ve listened to the song “Blame Canada” (from South Park) you know what I mean.

Answer:
Oh it's a hate/love situation. Us Swedes love to make jokes about the Finns and the Finns love to make jokes about Swedes.

Both Sweden and Finland are big ice hockey nations and when they play each other it can get a bit rowdy in the pubs and bars showing the games =))

Although, us Nordic countries love to make fun of each other, since we are so similar and share a lot of history with each other, we are actually quite united. It's more for fun than anything else.

And, to be honest, Swedes joke more about Norwegians than the Finns.

So, no, we don’t hate the Finns. I know I'm partial as my dad is Finnish but neither of my friends would say they hate Finns either.

And the Swedish dialect they’ve in Finland is really charming… =))

Answer:
I never found that when I was in Sweden. However, I did notice that some Swedes, mostly those from low social classes took the piss out of Finns and the way they spoke Swedish. Apart from that nothing else to report. They should be close as Finns also speak Swedish so can communicate with Swedes with ease.

Answer:
I think it is so for many reasons. My grandfather came from Sweden and told me never to have faith in a Finn! lol.

However, there’s one island called Aland (the first A has a circle ontop pronounced Oland). It is in the Archipelago and this one territory keeps changing hands from Sweden to Finland, and although it now belongs to Finland, all the residents there claim to be Swedish, and they speak the Swedish language. I think that's part of the problem right there. lol

Answer:
That's because Scandinavian weather is too cold. This is one of the way to keep themselves warm. And this two doesn't eat as much Salmon Fats as the Norwegians.

Answer:
It's not genuine hatred, just a joke!
