I lived in France 4 years ago but it was mostly in La Rochelle (which I loved minus the weather) for a year, then Paris for 4 months (did NOT like.)
Now I will be going with a BA in ESL and wnated to know where's the ideal place for a 24 year old to begin their English teaching career in France.
I've heard Bordeaux, Rennes, and Montpellier are good. I don't like large cities, I love a lot of things to do, and the superior the weather the better the option. Let me know!
Answer:
If you loved la rochelle, then i think you should give a go to bordeaux and his area….the weather is superior down there than Rennes,it s a dynamic and relatively young town .
It s also beautifull old town and the countryside around is just great(Dordogne area ) and you re not far from the ocean as well…montpellier is nice too but i have a preference for the “south west” spirit, so friendly..

Bonjour!
I have been living in France for at least 30 years and I I’ve found the paradise….
I llive at 50 kilometers from Bordeaux, on the “Bassin d'Arcachon”, just between the sunny and desert endless beaches of the Atlantic shore and the largest forest in western Europe, the “Parc Naturel des Landes de gascogne…”
Life is sweet, here, people are friendly, you’re invited everywhere, the landscape os really astounding and the climate is just what you can wish!
Bordeaux is a really beautiful city, far nicer than Paris, with numerous universities and a “human size”,and I’m sure that you should find here what you’re looking for…
Don’t hezitate !!!!
Welcome in France!
Answer:
Montpellier, my dream city in the South of France. Also check Aix-en-Provence.
Both cities have a university and you can find student accommodation (at a price). Montpellier has better transport (buses, trams).
Both are lively cities, even in winter. Montpellier is more massive than Aix, but you can cycle everywhere in both.
If I had to, I could not decide between them, but I guess Montpellier must have superior opportunities.
Good luck.
Answer:
Montpelier, Toulouse, Beziers……the southwest. Very friendly, sunny and warm, fabulous food, lots to see and do. The Mediterranean is very close. Check out the Languedoc, my favourite.
If for some reason you want to go to Paris to meet friends or something, you can fly there via Easyjet very economically.
