cost, where you went etc?

Answer:
Well, let's see . . . I lived in France & Germany as a young child (my father was in the Army). I've travelled in Canada twice. Spent an Interim (January between Fall and Spring Semesters) in Italy and Greece my senior year in college. I lived in Turkey for a year teaching English as a foreign language.

International travel is very expensive. However, it is an experience that you shouldn't pass up if you have the opportunity. Make the financial sacrifice and do it! There are other ways to make this possible, too.

Some of my very best memories are of the interactions I had with the people in other countries. For example, when I was in Rome, I did a tiny exploring of the city on my own and got lost. An elderly man, tried to help me, but we were vexed by our inability to speak to each other. He asked something about “nacionalite.” When I told him “Americana” he smiled and nodded and kissed me on both cheeks. I eventually found my way back to the hostel where I was staying, but 15 years later, I remember fondly that elderly gentleman's graciousness!

Best wishes for many adventures around the world!
