if i was to book accomodation in riva del garda, how long would my journey to verona be? or to gardaland?

Answer:
As you probably already know, Riva del Garda is on the opposite end of the lake from Gardaland. If you've got a automobile, you can just drive around the lake. It can be slow going because there's often a lot of traffic - count on it taking an hour and a half or more, but if you're early enough in the morning, you might be able to do somewhat better. http://www.gardaland.it/en/arrivare/

You can get there a couple of ways using public transportation. There's a free shuttle bus from the Peschiera del Garda train station. It's about a 5 minute trip from there. To get from Riva del Garda to Peschiera, you can take the bus. Bus line 62-62 runs between Riva del Garda and Verona and includes Peschiera del Garda. The schedule is at: www.apt.vr.it/pdf/62-64.pdf Riva to Peschiera takes 1 hr 37 min to continue on to Verona on the bus takes another 33 minutes or you could catch a train at Peschiera and get to the same place in Verona in 18 min plus any wait for the train. http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

You can also take the boat down the lake and walk from the landing to the train station. Relatively few of the boats go from Riva all the way to Peschiera - more of them go to Desenzano which is one stop on the train line from Peschiera. This is a very slow way to go it can take three hours. However, the boat schedules are useful if you're staying on the lake: http://www.navigazionelaghi.it/eng/gar/n… You could also use this to get to Verona - take the boat to Peschiera or Desenzano and catch the train to Verona (another 15 to 20 min).

If you've got a vehicle, this is a good site for driving directions, distances, and estimated times: http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/g…
