I am interested in hiking Cinque Terre, and was wondering if the ocean water is suitable for swimming this type of the year. What is the average temperature (ocean or land) like, and how long should I stay in the water? Thanks!

Here in 5 terre the weather is awsome! the temperature of the sea (it's the mediterranean sea.. not the ocean!) is about 20-25°C while on the land it's about 30-35°C… you can stay in the water as long as you want!! ..it's a paradise!

Yes, you'll see people swimming in Monterosso, Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. In Riomaggiore, there's a large rock in the water that people climb and jump off.
