Visa for italy?

im planing to live in italy for a year.

i currently live in the usa.

do you need a visa if im under 18?

how much would a visa cost?

how long will it take to get it?

any info/recommendations?

Answer:
Holders of US passports can travel to Italy and stay for 90 days without a visa. The passport is scanned on entry and details entered into the Schengen database. There’s no need to buy a visa.

However, it's very hard to get a visa for one year unless you can justify your reasons for staying that length of time, and can prove that you’ve accommodation arranged, full financial support and will not need to work.

If you intend to study for a year, then apply for a student visa through your university.

I lived in Italy for 13 years and with out a visa it it's not that difficult but it all depends are you with family? or friends.
