Hi. I'm travelling with my daughter to Peru next month. I'm not sure what childhood vaccines she has had as we lived in three diffrerent countries when she was tiny and I lost the yellow vaccination card that says what ones she's had. She has just got the yellow fever vaccination which is reccomended but I really can't state for sure if she has had the polio or mmr vaccinations
Answer:
She probably needed a copy of her shot record to enroll in school so you might want to check there as she will likely need a copy again for other reasons like attending college.
Generally polio series and MMR are given as a younger child and then occasionally boosters sometimes are given, particularly if the MMR was given before 2 years .
Probably more important is the Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis booster which she probably hasn't gotten and Hepatitis A and B series.
Answer:
The nurse at your doctor's surgery is the person to advise, prescribe, and inoculate for foreign trips. Some are free, some not.
