I'm having trouble finding statistics on gender egalitarianism…
Are men and woman treated equally? Do men earn more for the same job? Do women hold high positions of power within a corporation in Columbia?
Any information would help, including sites or personal experiences in Columbia
Thanks
Answer:
Times have changed. Nowadays there are an increasing number of women 'out of the kitchen' and in a managerial position.
Here are some facts. Some prove that things are changing, others - not so fast.
There has never been a female president.
in the army, women are refered to by the masculine titles (Capitan, instead of Capitana)
Last year Colombia had their first lady General - in history.
When it comes to news broadcast, Women are favoured over men. in most channels.Check the La Noche link
Women make less money than men by 22%
Remember, it is COLOMBIA not Columbia. Thanks.
Good luck
Answer:
In COLOMBIA men and women are treated equally, they both can have the same jobs and they both can vote and they have the ability to have as high position in their jobs (except probably in the army where only a few women have passed to be generals) Colombia has many different music (Others than Juanes and Shakira!) we’ve cumbia, vallenato and mapale (look for them in youtube to see how each is danced) And just if you didn't know, no, NOT every Colombian family consumes\produces drugs. Not everyone has familiars in the jungle! By the way.. it is a beautiful place (with its exceptions, just as any other place in the world )
