I'm thinking of taking my family and we've never been to Mexico.

Answer:
Go when its summer, because unlike Ixtapa, which is hot all year long, the weather in Guayabitos changes along with the season. I just went in March and believe me it was coooold! So if you go go from now until I state the end of August or September. Its very nice, its come a long way since I went when I was a little girl. Theres a celebration every night out on the street, band music playing, people cruising in there automobiles. Street gets full of people so if you’ve tiny children you might just have to avoid the night scene. I had a lot of trouble walking with a stroller, and that was a week before spring break. Beaches are great:)Below is a link to where we stayed at

No problem happy to help:) It may be cheaper in cost, but Puerto Vallarta is very overrated. Its been overcomercialized, and overpriced. If your interested in visiting Puerto Vallarta its only like an hour drive from Guayabitos. Report It

Answer:
Guayabitos is a small, cheap and humble touristic destination, mainly (but not only) visited by mexicans. It is located in Nayartit state, close to Nuevo Vallarta (modern touristic development in Nayarit) and Puerto Vallarta (traditional destination in Jalisco say, in the states limits).

By humble, I mean it is not the awesome and magnificent site as Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, Mazatlán, Los Cabos or Cancún. It is visited by mexicans mainly, specially workers (it is cheap…) It is nice to spend one weekend cheap vacations, more than two days will be bored. But cheaper than the other sites, anyway.

I'm mexican. I would prefer you visit a better place for a better first impression of México.
