i am going on a missions trip in July to Juarez but my parents are really worried about the crime, kidnappings, and rape there. i need to know what are going to be the main things i should worry about. (Mind you we are going with 2 adults from our church and 10 from the other, and we will never be with less then 5 people at one time no matter where we are.)
Answer:
I don't know about Juarez, but I used to travel to Nuevo Laredo frequently (border town in Texas) and although I always heard about kidnappings and corruption and what not, I never personally saw it. I think that if you use a little common sense about where you’re going and what time of the day you are going there you’ll be fine. If you can speak at least a little Spanish (enough to help understand what you want or are trying to say) that helps tremendously.

I think the biggest thing to worry about in Juarez is how are you going to get out of there safely?
I wouldn't go there for anything. Sorry….
Answer:
The raging drug war and the fact that they found at least 20 bodies in the desert.
