Im not sure if i'll get serious responses here- but I'm wondering, given the amount of anti Latino and anti Mexican rhetoric in America- what are the thoughts held in Mexico about Americans? Is the hatred many Americans feel for Mexicans mirrored in Mexican hatred of Americans?
It's really sad, as Mexicans i've met were really nice people, and Mexico is a nation with a vibrant culture and rich heritage. Americans seem oblivious to this-Why are there so many Mexicans in Texas and california? Could be because those states were once part of Mexico!!!
And Mexico City is far older than Jamestown or Plymouth

For the most part, Mexicans (IMHO) are fine with us gringos. The problem of dislike, distrust or even hate is usually from us towards them more than the other way around. It's because so many of US folks are ignorant, prejudiced or have no capability to understand (or desire to) their culture, people, history.
Sure, they’ve their jokes about us but doesn't each country have a country to mock, for what ever reason?
There are probably two reasons why there are so many Mexicans in TX and CA. 1. Yes, they were part of MX years ago and their descendants are there along with relatives from MX. 2. It's closest states to the border and they are able to find jobs there, also.
They’ve a rich history and a wonderful, family oriented culture.
They don't usually extradite anyone to the states if he/she is facing a possible Death Penalty as MX does not have the Death Penalty. Other countries are like this, also. That's why the U.S. will often guarantee the penalty will be Life in Prison if found guilty instead of the Death Penalty so they have the ability to get the criminal back in custody.
They don't actively search for ex-pats that stay beyond their visas' time limit. Too many of them there already. I know several that came over a decade ago and are still living there. I met the grandson of the man who founded the Winchester Rifle Co. living down there. He's been there over 20 years and never renewed his visa.!!!
Mexico might not have the potential or opportunites that we have as far as education and careers but they certainly know how to put things into perspective and can really enjoy life. I love it when I live in MX for a few months and can't wait to retire there soon, I hope.

When you travel to Mexico, you need to look out for the thiefs. God forbid you don't leave when your visa/passport expires. The police or immigration come looking for you. The mexican goverment has tiny tolerance for American's that over welcome their stay. The anything ones the Mexican goverment protect are the people who have capital crime charges against them, and the death penalty is in play int the USA. The Mexican goverment might hold that crimnal over as the Mexican governent condones the death penalty.~Greg~

Shame on you… Mexicans don't hate WHITE people… in fact, they WORSHIP them. Look at all the Mexican soap operas… they pick the whitest looking Mexicans to star in each single one of them. Moreover, And Mexicans aren't taking over the U.S. … the fact that they are now moving into parts of the U.S. where Mexicans previously never lived is alarming to some… and hence the idea Mexicans are taking over.
Mexico is going some major problems right now… a lot of them are borne out of the drug trade… which the U.S. is MAJORLY responsible for… if demand for coke wouldnt be so high, there wouldnt be a need to traffic drugs.
Now to answer your question: Yes… there is resentement but there is not the condescending attitude that many Americans give Mexicans and Mexico. Americans won a war that took half the country away, and with it a lot of it's countrymen. The United Says is the wealthiest nation in the world… and the fact that it's right next to Mexico creates a massive brother complex. Many Mexicans have a complex about their bigger, stronger, and wealthier neighbor to the north… even if Mexico is one of the largest economies in the world,2nd largest in LatinAmerica, and has a standard of living that falls somewherre in the middle… it pales to the wealth of the U.S. So OBVIOUSLY, there’s going to be some natural bitterness.
However, most Mexicans know someone who lives in the U.S. or has a relative, etc…. so despite this resentement, they love the U.S…. love U.S. movies, shows, music, clothes, etc.

We aren't taking over Mexico so of course they are not going to treat us like we treat them. On the other hand, the Mexicans that come to America treat Americans no better than we treat them. Most of them hate white people unless we can give them something - the new immigrants anyway, not most of the ones you’re talking about in Texas and California. If you actually live legally in America, I fully support your staying here and i'm happy to have you. But a lot of them come here to take, take, take and then run back to Mexico. Or they live here illegally and increase the crime rate.
