We are wanting to go to Cancun this October for our anniversary and don't know how long of a trip to plan. When we've been to Vegas 3 or 4 days was plenty, when we've been to Colorado 5 days was adequate and we were ready to come home. But, everyone says Cancun is incredible and you don't want to leave…What's ur thought?
Answer:
It all depends on you. There are people who retire to Cancun and who wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world….then there is the short-attention span folks who just don't know how to slow down enough to enjoy ANY PLACE.
For a lot of people, I could envision MONTHS being insufficient. You could come to Cancun to learn scuba diving, spend the first week taking lessons and getting your certificate, then the next several weeks exploring different dive sites, doing some reefs, a few shipwrecks, maybe even a cenote or an underground river.
I could see folks with an interest in history and archaeology getting so immersed in the tales of ancient Mayan civilizations that they spend months on end exploring the sites, talking to the local guides, poring over books and literature, and visiting museums full of antiquities that would have Indiana Jones drooling like a toddler in a candy shop.
Of course, a high level of interest comes from having a curious mind. And that certainly isn't the usual “vacation crowd”. Soooo, as I state, it all depends on you and how interested you are in being in that particular place.
For most vacationers, a week is probably good.

cancun vacation
Part of the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancun quickly evolved into a truly world-class resort, with many outstanding stretches of white sandy beaches and Caribbean coastline. The development of the hotel complexes and overall infrastructure could hardly keep up with demand and Cancun swiftly became a large tourism success. Cancun is the ultimate vacation and resort destination whether your idea of a good time is surfing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, laying in the tropical sun, or staying out all night.
