How does your new life compare? Do you miss home? I miss South Africa like crazy but I know I can't return there because of the situation. I love Auckland too but I miss the weather and the sunny long days in South Africa not to mention the wildlife. What do you miss?

I'm not South African but I sympathize with how you must feel.
I’m from Australia and it isn’t as pricey or difficult to return for holidays and yet there is a pain in my heart all the time for all the things I miss about it. Most people miss their home-land and it is glorified in our memories by distance and time. We totally forget the bad things.
Be grateful for the good experiences you had in your country that some have never known and search for the positives in New Zealand and make the most of them.
