Ae <——– what does that mean?

so i met this wicked hot guy from new zealand lol and when he text me on my phone, he writes ae what on earth does that mean lol!! i usually just ignore it. but i would like to know

so yep, they say it end of a statement to encurage a response
like 'geez school was crap today ae!' ae is your cue to go along with wateva they r saying

You can spell it ahe, or aye.
you state it at the end of a statement, its kind of used to ask what you think about the statement i just made.
for example, “Its a nice day outside ahe.” Then you would say “yeah its really sunny outside.”
You can state it in disbelieve, or just to show the person speaking that you are listening to them.
for example you might say “guess what happened to me today, i lost my keys” then the person listening might state “ahe!”
