I will stay near the Glories Commercial Centre for five days and I will try to see all the main attractions in Barcelona. Is it better/cheaper to buy a barcelona card for 5 days or a t10 ticket for zone 1? Does zone 1 covers the main attractions in Barcelona?
Many thanks for your help.
Answer:
Just a swift addition, in case you're mentioning another concept there is a “Barcelona Card” which is a absolutely different kettle of fish to the metro. This is not worth it, unless you plan on visiting completely each museum. I would say also that if you plan on doing something like the tourist bus, then you will probably only need 1 T-10.
Glories isn't very central, really, so you will rely on public transport to see the main attractions, but you're also very close to the tram, so don't rely just on the metro (you can use the same card for the whole of the Barcelona transport system).
I think the T-10 would probably do you, as you might get the metro into town, but then end up walking around to see many of the things you had planned on going to on the metro (it's all fairly compact) or if you need to purchase 2, it's only going to be 14 euros, so just price up what you think will be ideal!
Have a great time!
Answer:
Zone 1 covers anything in the city and the airport and out into the suburbs. So that's all the attractions unless you want to make a day trip out to Sitges or Monserrat (which you're superior off buying separately anyway). Go with zone 1.
A five-day ticket is just over the price of 3 T10 tickets. If you're very active, you might make more than 30 trips (6 trips a day), but I think most tourists would average slightly less. If you're schedule is packed, do the 5-day, otherwise purchase the T10.
It's a wonderful city. Enjoy!

A T10 ticket for zone 1 will cover all the area of the “major attractions”, but I would advise you to purchase a card for five days. Why? Because a T10 is only for ten trips, which for you means two trips daily…somewhere and back. If you want to see a lot of the city and you’re staying by the Glories Centre you’re going to be using the subway (Metro) and buses to get around. Although I am sure you are going to do a good amount of walking there will be times when your feet just can't take anymore and at that time it's nice to grab a bus to go those 10 blocks!! I live in Barcelona and I average about four trips per day.

The card for 5 days is superior. You can use a T10 only for 10 times. It isn't enough to see all the main attractions in Barcelona. Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
