I see that one can take planes, trains, and ferries to get there but which combination is the most cost effective/quickest/easiest. I was looking at flying to Ibizia for about $70 or Mallorca for $100 then taking ferry from there.
Answer:
It seems to be to fly Spanair or Iberia nonstop to Menorca, a tiny over an hour each way. I'm seeing about 106 euros and up if you book in advance (www.edreams.es, though check the individual airline sites, too).
You could also try train to Valencia, and the ferries to Menorca, but I'm not beating the flight price.
Answer:
The fastest way will be by plane of course but may cost a pretty penny. The last time I traveled any long distances in Spain, I took the train. It was cost-efficient, fun, and resting. I’ve found train tickets in the 35 euro range. From the train you could then hop onto a ferry which from my experience was worth it. Haven’t taken a ferry in that particular area however. I took a ferry from Tarifa to Tangier which was cost-friendly and fun.
Answer:
I always travel by train…From Madrid to Barcelona and ferry to Mallorca then to Menorca
But there seems to be a flight from Madrid to Mao, Minorca for $142 which would be faster and easier.
Answer:
Not gonna get all the way by train. You'll have to take a ferry.
I would probably fly. There are so many discount flights available, and it would take so much less time.
Answer:
Barcelona and take the ferry…or Madrid-Maó by plane. Check the web and see what it offers you.
