Are there any reasonably priced automatic watches Swiss movement(mechanical watches)?
Hello it is my friend’s birthday soon so I would like to get him a Swiss movement watch for his birthday. But my price limit is £60 100CHF, 86.05$ and I don’t know where to begin .
Most retailers in London have a limited range of watches to select from.

As I would like to purchase a Swiss movement watch automatic if possible
I looked everywhere and no luck so far what should i do? I tried www.fhs.ch (swiss watch makers federation) but no luck there? All I want is watch with mechanical movement for around £60.
All help appreciated?

If you can’t help can you tell me who can?

Any help appreciated.
A list of manufacturers if possible.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours
Farhan (London)

Be reminded that Swiss are very reality minded and therefore don't tell you something you would like to hear. So, accept what you have been told!

Answer:
First of all, Switzerland is one of the most costly countries in the world. Besides that, the prices to pay to people who have special manual skills are even higher than the ones in similar countries. Craftsmanship is paid very well in Switzerland.

An automatic Swiss watch (watch movement etc.) is an expensive product. With your price range, you are not even close to the amounts paid for such watches.

The only alternative is a second hand watch. You can buy such a watch on Ebay.

Answer:
I don't know of any Swiss companies who make the type of watch you're looking for, for the price range you're looking. You can try websites such as EBAY, but Swatch is a great company and they have a lot of really interesting designs. Their watches are in the price range you're looking for also.

Answer:
Don't know about prices but try

- Bucherer AG, www.bucherer.com, +41 44 211 26 35
- Meister Uhren AG, www.meister-zurich.ch, +41 44 211 19 33
- Beyer Chronometrie AG, www.beyer-chronometrie.ch,
- Kurz AG, www.kurzschmuckuhren.ch, +41 44 225 34 34
- Gut Juwelier, www.gutjuwelier.ch, +41 44 221 01 44

If it's urgent, call them. They are certainly able to help you if they’re not what you are looking for. For watches, I would first call Bucherer.
