im a 16 year old Australian girl travelling to america at the end of the year with my school. we’re travelling all across california for 10 days then being placed in familys in Seatle for the following 10 days. i need to know what type of clothes to bring as it will be summer in Australia when we leave and no winter clothes will be in the shops. also if you have any tips that may make my trip more enjoyable dont hesitate to tell me, i have been over seas before so im not affraid of flying.

Answer:
If you’re going to be travelling along the coast, it can be quite chilly in December/January. The average temperature in Los Angeles (southern California) is around 55 degrees F (15 degrees C) and it gets progressively cooler as you head north (San Francisco 50 F; 10 C) I urge you to bring a lined windbreaker, preferably water proof, a sweatshirt and sweatpants as well as warm socks and sneakers. Bring your bathing suit, in case some of the hotels/motels along the way have indoor swimming pools. In Seattle there will be a lot of rain, with temperatures in the mid to upper 40's (F) or 5-10 degrees (C). Good luck!

Answer:
California isn't very cold but it's not perfect weather either. expect rain maybe just cloudy days. I'm pretty sure Seatle is rainy all the time as well
