Well, the place where I’ve seen the most street prostitution was in Rio de Janeiro, for the Carnival this year.

And of course, just about any cheap truck stop, anywhere in the US.
Here in Toronto , only the worst crack heads are found on the streets, and not very many of them. Most of “the girls” work out of an apartment, with ads on the net, or in the free newspapers. It is tolerated by the community, and in fact the act of prostitution itself, is legal in Canada. The illegal part is “communicating for the purpose of soliciting ” . So if you don't do it openly, on the street, it is OK.
I'd say that in a few years, it will become totally legal in Canada, and it will be taxed as personal income, with monthly medicals and designated ” red light ” areas, in industrial sections, not residential neighbourhoods.
