my Fi are trying to decide on where to go on our honeymoon this july. it is between the sun palace resort in cancun mexico or paradise island in the bahamas. both are the same price. has anyone been to either of these places? we’re looking to just enjoy each others company. not intersted in sight seeing, just drink, eat and relax. thanks!

Answer:
I stayted at the moon palace in cancun 3 years ago. The moon palace is huge but is far off the strip. The sun palace is on the strip. This is a good thing.

You will like the beach at the sun palace but I have the ability to attest that the food is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE at ALL of the palace resorts. As a palace resort resident, you can dine at any of the resorts (and we did). The drinks were decent and the pool is nice. Not sure about the sun palace rooms however. I think the hotel is a bit older than the moon palace. Those rooms were nice but small. I don’t think I will stay at a palace resorts property again primarily because of the food. (oh….my entire family got sick for 2-3 days each)

I also stayted at Atlantis in paradise island and at another hotel on cable beach on nassau. The grounds at atlantis are extraordinary (if your hotel has rights to the atlantis grounds). The food was much much superior. I liked the snorkeling superior in the bahamas as well.

I give a large vote for the bahamas over cancun.

However, I would pick Turks and Caicos, St. Martin, Aruba, St Barts, Cayman over the either of your choices. (not that the bahamas is not good. I just liked the others better)

Answer:
i would choose bahamas. much more romantic and superior for a honeymoon. cancun i wouldnt go to currently, especially with the current drug war and mexico going on right now. when i hear cancun i think of high school/college spring break and partying, bahamas would be a superior choice for a honeymoon.

Answer:
Mexico is perilous. Go to the Bahamas.

Answer:
I've been to paradise island, it's beautiful !!!!!!!!! You’ll love it.
