This is gonna sound weird but I love the way British people talk. lol. They just have a more interesting way of speaking than us Americans. So just wondering, people who are British or from the UK, do you think Americans talk weird or have an odd accent? We just talk kindda boringly so I couldn't envision someone thinking I’ve an accent. Just curious to know?

Answer:
of course you’ve an accent, everyone has an accent, there's no such thing as “standard” English … yes I think Americans talk weird at times, you pronounce things in a strange way, spell them in a strange way and sometimes use totally different words for things from what we do

Answer:
The reason you don't think you’ve an accent is because where you live, everyone speaks the way you do.

Once you go to another place or country, YOU are the one with the accent.

Answer:
There are a lot of US Television programs and movies that we get here, so the British are used to the American accent, as is the rest of the world! I've never thought of it as boring.

Answer:
I usually love the accent, but each time I hear an American person say “vitamin” or “yoghurt” etc, I cringe hard.

xD
