Answer:
Carly has certainly given you an excellent and the best answer on public transport here but beware - check the bus timetable for Alton Towers before going to Uttoxeter as I once took my then young children to Alton Towers from Preston via public transport to discover that the bus service only ran during summer holiday periods and it ended up costing £30 for the return taxi fare to the train station - and that was some years ago!

From Uttoxeter train station you'll ned to take the 32A bus to Alton Towers (destination Hanley/City Centre). This bus leaves Uttoxeter rail station (bus stop outside station) at 09:10 and 11:10 Mon-Sat.

The return times of the bus are 16:23, 17:23 & 18:23. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.

Answer:
I'd advocate having a look on coach websites to see if they have any coaches running on the dates you require.

This way I'm sure it'll work out cheaper than the train or taxi like other people have stated.

Perhaps the place runs its own coaches picking people up from areas etc. Check out this link from the Alton Towers website shows you the closest towns and then provides bus timetables from them as well….

Good luck, Have fun!
