We’re now told the French (maybe) are to buy our nuclear power plants, we are told that the youths from certain parentage from the Commonwealth in this country do not class themselves as British, we don’t own many massive national companies etc, next I’ll be told I am not English per see but British. Born and bred in England & proud to English. I’m also sick of all the PC crap. I am no way a racist but beginning to think my identity has been taken away from my family & I, without consultation. ps. and Jobs. No I will not leave this country but I’m told there is free speech!!!

No sarcasm please.

Answer:
The English have allowed themselves to be called British for far to long,

The Scots always refer to themselves as Scottish, and the Welsh always refer to themselves as Welsh.

Now wonder we have lost some of our identity, what’s British?

To get our identity back like the Scottish & the Welsh, we have to drop the British & start calling ourselves English.

Brtitish means nothing, you don't know if that person is English, Scottish, Welsh, or a British Citizen

Answer:
I’m also Proud to be English not British But as far as I have the ability to see The band Genesis stated it first in there song Selling England By The Pound. The Government seems to be so interested in playing Captain save a Country but doesnt want to Save it's self. I Live In America now and have done for 30 years often wondering if it was a mistake but like a true person of English decent I make the ideal of It.. Good Luck

Answer:
ii also believe we are losing our nationality. The country need saving. I think the government should pass pro-english laws, so that pubs dont disappears.etc, or so we keep our national pride. We need an english leader. Americans would'nt allow an englishman to rule thier country, so why let a scot or a welshman rule ours? POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Answer:
I don't feel English. Having lived in London and now Yorkshire I feel a greater identity with Yorkshire. Its funny, when I visited Glasgow I had more in common with the people there (let down by a London parliament that does not care about them) than I have with people in Surrey.

Answer:
Oh get over it.

You are English first and foremost, then British, but seriously, there are more important issues to be worrying about, get it sorted mate.
