I have since moved back to nigeria and didn’t over stay my student visa validity. However think i have a traffic offence in the uk, and fear arrest at the airport on re-entry into the uk. i now work professional and my company is sending me on a course in the uk this June. If I’ve a criminal record, will i be arrested at heathrow/gatwick airport or will i simply just be refused a business visa in nigeria. Pls advice. Thanks a lot

Answer:
It depends on the offence, If it was a minor offence, it won't affect your visa. If it was something major that involved damage to property or injury to a person, or drink driving or dangerous driving, then you may have a problem but this will be picked up when you apply. What s the nature of the offence that makes you unsure?

Don't worry about the advice from the UKBA officer on here that answered your last question. He's either fake or a very badly informed UKBA officer going by some of his answers.

Answer:
It was not your entitlement and that’s a serious offence as it is benefit fraud. That is far more likely to get your visa refused as it is a direct violation of the conditions of your previous visa.

Answer:
I've no idea whether you'd be arrested or not, or whether you'd be refused a visa … but have you tried to get this sorted out … maybe contact the police who asked you to produce your driving licence and MOT and confess … did you actually have a driving licence or is it you just didn't produce it? … you might well have to pay a fine or something but if you're going to have to travel to the UK again in the future and if it would affect your advancement at work if you weren't able to travel, then it would be well worth getting it sorted out now

Answer:
Don't worry about it, you can't be arrested for minor traffic offences.

Answer:
A minor traffic offence ?
I would not worry too much.
